Why What We Offer Is Important
Many homeowners are unaware of their responsibilities for maintenance and repair of their water and sewer laterals. If a service line breaks the homeowner is faced with an unexpected and often significant repair expense, which could range from $3,000 to $10,000 or more. According to a recent Federal Reserve Board report, four in ten Americans can’t afford an unexpected $400 expense without taking a loan or selling something.
The program is offered at no cost to municipalities and utilities and can include a revenue share. Partners use these funds to support key initiatives such as low-income assistance and affordability programs, conservation initiatives and infrastructure improvement projects.
